17 Unismuh Makassar Students Officially Released to Participate in KKN MAS 2026 in Malang Regency

Makassar – The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar officially dispatched 17 students from the Islamic Education Program (PAI) to participate in the Muhammadiyah-'Aisyiyah Real-World Learning (KKN MAS) 2026, which will be held in Malang Regency, East Java, with Muhammadiyah University Malang (UMM) as the host university.

The graduation ceremony took place in the FAI Seminar Room, Iqra Building, Floor 4, Thursday (July 23, 2026). The students are scheduled to carry out community service from July 29 to August 31, 2026, along with participants from various Muhammadiyah and 'Aisyiyah (PTMA) universities across Indonesia.

The 17 PAI students from Unismuh Makassar who were dispatched consist of 14 female students and 3 male students. Their participation is part of Muhammadiyah University Makassar's commitment to supporting integrated community service programs in accordance with the Four Pillars of Muhammadiyah University.

The Dean of the FAI of Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Amirah Mawardi, S.Ag., M.Si.,, officially inaugurated the KKN MAS participants. In her address, she emphasized that students are representatives of the institution who bring the identity of Muhammadiyah University Makassar to the community.

"You are the face of Muhammadiyah University Makassar. Therefore, maintain the good name of the university, faculty, program, and family during community service at the KKN location," said Dr. Amirah.

In addition to maintaining the reputation of the institution, the Dean of FAI also reminded the importance of fostering a spirit of service to the community. According to him, the success of KKN is not only measured by the successful implementation of work programs, but also by how well students can bring benefits and solutions to the community.

"Be a servant to the community. The presence of students must have a positive impact through knowledge, example, and behavior that reflects Islamic values. Good service is service that is felt by the community," he said.

He also urged all participants to maintain unity during the KKN. Solidarity among participants is considered an important asset in solving various challenges in the field.

"Take care of each other. Build good communication, remind each other, and solve every problem through deliberation so that all activities can run smoothly until completion," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the PAI Program of Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Abdul Fattah, M.Th.I.,, emphasized that Muhammadiyah-'Aisyiyah KKN is not just a course that must be completed to meet academic requirements. More than that, KKN is a mandate that requires integrity, responsibility, and commitment to service.

"KKN MAS is not just an academic activity, but is actually a mandate. A mandate to implement learned knowledge, serve the community, and demonstrate the integrity of Islamic Education students," he explained.

He explained that students also have a responsibility as representatives of the campus. Therefore, all activities, behavior, and ethics of the students during their stay at the KKN location will be a reflection of the quality of Muhammadiyah University Makassar, particularly the Islamic Education Program.

"Use this opportunity as a promotion of the campus and the program through real work, good ethics, discipline, and professionalism. The community will know the quality of the institution from the behavior of the students they encounter in the field," he explained.

Furthermore, Dr. Abdul Fattah encouraged the students to use the KKN momentum as a space to build an academic network and friendship with students from various PTMA in Indonesia.

"Build cooperation and friendship. KKN MAS brings together students from various regions with diverse backgrounds. Make this diversity a strength to learn from each other, share experiences, and expand networks that are beneficial for the future," he said.
