Unismuh Makassar Rector Graduates 128 FAI KKP Students, Ready to Serve in Galesong Subdistrict

The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar officially held the Graduation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Professional Work Program (KKP) on Monday, 30 Rajab 1447 H, corresponding to January 19, 2026. The event, which began at 07.30 WITA, was held in front of the Muktamar Conference Building of Unismuh Makassar and was attended by 128 students from four study programs, namely PAI (Islamic Education), BKPI (Islamic Counseling), HES (Islamic Social Sciences), and PBA (Islamic Community Development), as preparation for service in Galesong Sub-district, Takalar Regency.

The graduation of the KKP students was directly conducted by the Rector of Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Ir. H. Abdul Rakhim Nanda, ST., MT., IPM, accompanied by the Dean of FAI, Dr. Amirah Mawardi, S.Ag., M.Si., and the Vice-Deans I, Dr. M. Ilham Muchtar, Lc., M.A., Vice-Dean III, Elli Oschar, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., and Vice-Dean IV, Ya’kub, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., as well as the Heads of Study Programs, Chairpersons, and secretaries of the KKP Committee and field supervisors. The presence of the faculty leaders emphasized their full support for the implementation of the KKP as part of the community-based curriculum.

In his address, the Rector of Unismuh Makassar urged all KKP students to be a reflection of the goodness of the Faculty of Islamic Studies. He emphasized the importance of maintaining morality, ethics, and designing programs that are beneficial, especially in the lead-up to Ramadan. “Students must be able to be agents of change, bringing Islamic values and providing real contributions to the community in Galesong Sub-district,” he stated.

Upon arrival at the location, the student delegation, accompanied by Vice-Dean I, Vice-Dean IV, KKP Committee Chair Ratna Wulandari, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Committee Secretary Dr. Musdalifah Nihaya, S.Pd., M.Pd., were warmly welcomed by the Galesong Sub-district officials in the Kecamatan Hall. The Secretary of Galesong Sub-district expressed his happiness and gratitude for the presence of the Unismuh KKP students. “This is a joy and blessing for us. We hope to be good hosts and provide valuable experiences for all of you,” he said.

The KKP Committee Chair, Ratna Wulandari, revealed that the villages where the KKP program is located were recommended by the kecamatan, with enthusiastic reception from the village heads. The students were provided with adequate living facilities during the KKP. This activity also demonstrates Unismuh Makassar's commitment as an excellent and Islamic university in producing students with strong character, competitive skills, and social awareness. This moment is also part of the campus's promotion for the New Student Admission (PMB) program, inviting prospective students to join Unismuh Makassar as a center for quality education and community service.
